The Fields Studio’s Topping Out Ceremony

At the crossroads of creativity and commercial development now stands the start of The Fields Studios. What began as a vision by Knickpoint Ventures and founder Zain Koita became a reality with a topping-out ceremony this week setting the stage for continued work on the 22-acre film studio campus scheduled for completion next year.

Knickpoint Ventures chose Bulley & Andrews with its 130 years of experience in the art of storytelling

to perform as its general contractor for the epic Fields Studio project that includes 9 purpose-build sound stage complex in the Avondale and Hermosa neighborhoods on the northwest side of Chicago.

In a supporting role, Advanced Precast delivered the dramatic 50-feet-tall, acid-etched concrete architectural wall panels fabricated at its dream factory in Dyersville, Iowa.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker describes The Field Studios as an economic growth engine expected to generate 12,000 film production jobs and $1.3 Billion in new revenue over the first five years of operations. The Fields Studios complex includes a mix of residential and commercial space for retail shops, dining, and arts and entertainment district designed by producers, for producers.
